1 month old today!!!

Juliette turns 1 month old today. She went to the doctor yesterday for a checkup and now weighs 7lb 3oz and is 19 1/4 inches long...finally the size of a regular newborn. Also finally fitting into newborn sized clothes. She had a pooping problem this week and we mentioned it to the doctor so we no have to give her 50/50 diluted white grape juice up to 3x a day to help the pooping. It's just because of the iron in the formula and they don't sell soy formula with no iron.

We went to breakfast with Grammy and Papa Tod today and Juliette did not make a sound, she's such a good baby!

My friends Becky and Jim are coming from NH for the weekend Becky is excited she hasn't seen Juliette since she was born, she was present in the delivery room. Then my sister will be here tomorrow from NH also so it's a busy weekend here!

Trip to hospital

Yeah so Juliette is going to be a handful, she already is playing tricks on me. Last night we went over our friends house and got home around 8:30 and I was getting not actual pains but a feeling like she was rolling up in a ball, usually she does that a few times a day but last night it was 15-20 times in like 2 hours. I figured there is no way that is her doing that that often. About 10:30 we were lying in bed and I asked Justin does it feel like my whole stomache is hard or just the 1 side she lays on, he said the whole thing and it happened like every 2 minutes. We decided to call the doctor just to see what they had to say. I explained everything to her and she told me to come on in. I get there and they check me and to my total surprise one doctor had me at 3cm and one had me at 4cm. They gave me IV fluids in case I was dehydrated and a pill to stop the contractions that are actually starting to annoy me, not in an ouch kind of way but a "this is uncomfortable" way.
This continued until 4am and then everything just petered out. I had to take another one of those pills at 6am. They checked me at 8:30am still dilated the same so I was sent home. If all this would have happened Monday they wouldn't have stopped it at all.

I still have my doctors appt monday so we will see if there is any new changes.

34 weeks

So we went to the doctor again yesterday, she didn't manually check the cervix but on the ultrasound it is still getting shorter, 8mm from the danger zone.
Had a dream the other night that when she was born she was hideous, we know that's not going to happen though.
Well we have her car seat all together (the straps were a nightmare) it's completely pink, changed my mind again on her going home outfit. I'm keeping it at this one though.
So we are all set, have everything we need now. she just needs to get here because no one can wait anymore. Grandma Shells is making her own nursery at her house so she's shopping and getting prepared like we are. I literally have nothing left to do except wash all her clothes, she has 4 times the amount of clothes I do.

Hopefully I have something exciting to say about next weeks appointment Monday!

32 Weeks

It was so hot here yesterday I wanted to die! This was the first time all summer that this has happened.

Went to the doctor yesterday, ultrasound revealed that compared to 2 weeks ago my cervix is half as long as it used to be. It's not so much the change they are worried about but the rapidness. I go back monday for the Fetal Fibronectin test, last 3 have been negative but...hmmm well I don't know I think this one might be negative too but not the one after, just my prediction.

Juliette is collecting quite the wardrobe, everything is pink, not kidding I think there are maybe 2 items in her closet that aren't pink. Her hospital bag is packed, not that she needs much but I've changed my mind 3 times on what she's wearing home.

Well we will see what the doctor says monday when I go back, I didn't see my regular doctor this time and this woman was a dingbat and we didn't like her. My doctor will be much more informative.

31 Weeks today

Today is the 31 week mark, Juliette is still practicing her gymnastics. I think she got sick of gymnastics and now wants to be a girl boxer. This morning I'm lying there and she punched or kicked something SO HARD that I jumped and almost cried!! I thought she bruised one of my organs.

We are going to the Dr weekly just so they can watch me for preterm labor even though I really don't think that will happen, not that early I'm guessing September 29th which would make me almost 37 weeks.

We got another ultrasound wednesday and this time her face was directly looking out like at the ultrasound wand thingie. We got a pic of her face straight on. She was turning her head from side to side and opening and closing her mouth....I think she was hungry. They were checking for dilation, nothing yet at all, we go back again for this every 2 weeks so Sept 4th we go again to see if there is any change.

If there is to be any change they will give me a steriod shot to make her lungs develop really quick. If there is any change after 34 weeks they aren't going to do anything just let it go. She needs to stay in at least until 34 weeks because that's when she'll be old enough to regulate her temperature, eat, and breathe well all by herself with no assistance.

So now that I will be going to the doctor that much I'll come here and write what happens at each appointment.

Updated 8/4/2008

Hey yal I'll have some more pics up soon. The upload thing is having problems I guess. The baby is moving a lot we watch her all the time. We bought a baby monitor thing at this discount baby store and it's neat and all but it's not as good as the hospitals. Marie is starting to have some trouble getting some zzzzzz's. Very common among pregnant woman I hear. My Mom and Tod stopped in today and brought us bassinette as well as an umbrella stoller, and a going home dress. I'll have the pictures of the stuff up soon. So in conclusion we are nearing completion of all the things we are going to need to start our journey. My dad sent some money much needed thanks. This has been one of the toughest things that I have ever done and I am soo happy she is comming soon 84 more days until she is due to arrive. Last ultrasound says everything is ok and she wieghs correct. She has a big head the tech said and when I asked him how big, he replied" Ask her after delivery."
